NanoSCOPE Redux

The exhibition NanoSCOPE Redux was officially opened at the UTESLA Festival Spring 2011 on26th May 2011. The opening event included also a video stream with our ISWA partners at ESRF Grenoble.

The exhibited artworks were complemented with set of textual installations by authors, art-historians and scientists. The authors were also requested to answer common set of questions on art&sci and to prepare a short manual describing the development of their works. These materials were also used as worksheets during the accompanying motivation seminars and workshop for student.

The premises of the Faculty of Chemical Technology allows for organizing accompanying program for students and artists in the form of:

  • UTESLA Festival Spring 2011 on 26th May with seminars, workshops, art&sci mediation guided tours and performances (see Annex), the event is also covered on video (see Annex)
  • UTESLA Festival Fall 2011 on 13th October with seminars, workshops, art&ci mediation guided tours, performances (see Annex)
  • student workshop and guided tours at the Chemical Fare on 22nd June (synergy with International Year of Chemistry,  for the poster see Annex)
  • science seminars and excursion for artist participating to ISWA at Faculty of Chemical Technology of theUniversityofPardubice

The openings of the two festivals were visited by around 300 people. Taking place in public space the total number of visitors over the period from 26th May 2011 till January 2012 can only be judged.  Based on our experience we expect around 3000 visitors.  In addition to that approximately 350 secondary school students (14 classes) of students have attended accompanying seminars, workshops and guided tours with art mediation.
